Random Thoughts: Norma goes traveling

Hold on to your hats, I am going traveling. I'm going right from my rocking chair. My friends and family have left their itinerary with me, so that makes it easy.

First I will travel with my friends Dorothy and Jean. Dorothy wasn't looking for the land of Oz. It was better. They took a cruise from Rome to Barcelona and back to Rome, so I went right along and tried to imagine the excitement of seeing different people and a different world. I have been to Rome.

At the same time I was busy keeping up with my daughter, Mary and her husband Bob. They took their whole family to Hawaii. I have been there so it was a great memory trip as they visited the places I had been. I could feel the wonderful ocean breeze and smell the heavenly flowers. I could dip my toes in the Pacific and ride down a mountain trail on a bike. I could eat seafood and sip a mai-tai now and then. (I put that in for color!)

Now I'm off with my son, Bud and his wife Lavonne. They are on a cruise down the beautiful Blue Danube from Budapest to Vienna. I've never been to Budapest so that will be a new experience.

I have been to Vienna, so I can think of all the things I saw when I was there. Wonderful cathedrals, museums, and the white horses. It really makes a wonderful summer for me.

If you can't go, read some books about other lands and imagine going there. You could even find recipes for the food there and enjoy a different culture. Adios! Aloha! And goodbye!
