Reception to honor Arlene and Joe Evans on 50th anniversary years ago
Joe and Arlene Evans will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with a reception from 3 to 5 p.m. Aug. 18 at St. Anthony's Hall, Strong City.
Arlene Makovec and Joe Evans were married Aug. 24, 1957, at St. Anthony's Church, Strong City.
In 1973, after 20 years of service in the U.S. Army, Joe and Arlene moved to Cottonwood Falls. They have owned and operated Joe's Upholstery for the past 33 years.
The couple has three children, Debby Baker of Roxbury and Cindy Cooper and Eddie Evans, both of Cottonwood Falls. They have nine grandchildren and two great-grandsons.
