RECIPES: Chocolate angel food cake

Sift three times:

1 cup flour

1 cup sugar

1/2 cup cocoa

Measure:

1 1/2 cups egg whites

1 tablespoon water

1 1/2 teaspoon

cream of tartar

1/4 teaspoon salt

Beat the egg whites until foamy. Gradually add 1 cup of sugar. Beat well after each addition. Gently fold in flour and sugar mixture.

Add 1 1/2 teaspoon vanilla

Bake 35 to 40 minutes in a 350 degree F oven.
