Relatives visit Lost Springs

Irene Waylan of Miami, Okla., surprised her mother and brother Mildred and Francis Hajek on Thursday when she came just to chit-chat with them. She stayed until Sunday afternoon.

Mervin and Leona Deines attended the AAL benefit dinner Sunday noon at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Herington. The dinner was a benefit for Lisa Hanschu.

Larry Rudolph and Evelyn Strecker distributed commodities Monday afternoon at the Ramona senior center.

Becky Lehnerr of Plymouth spent the weekend with Patricia Zinn. She took her mother shopping.

Frances Hanschu recently visited Naomi Fike at Smoky Hill Rehab in Salina. We send "get well" wishes to Naomi.

Mervin and Leona Deines attended the installation service for the new pastor at Lyons Creek Sunday afternoon.

Lost Springs Legion Auxiliary met at the home of Dollye Novak. It was announced that the American Legion Veterans Tour would be held Oct. 7 at Lincolnville. Also announced that Christmas gifts are to be at Colmery O'Neil Veterans Hospital by Nov. 12.

Bob and Irma Reznicek attended a birthday party in honor of Bob Makovec Saturday night at Renegades in Lincolnville.

The Phillip Deines family reunion and basket dinner will be Sunday at the Lincolnville Community Building.

Clark Strecker of Andover and Douglas Strecker of Hesston came Saturday afternoon and were supper guests. Douglas did some disking and Clark sawed trees while they were here. They had been to Hutchinson for Rose Hill's 5th grade team's football game with the Hutchinson 5th graders. Austin plays on the Rose Hill team which lost the game.

Those who visited Bob and Irma Reznicek over the weekend were Kenneth and Debbie Reznicek, Nicholas and Nathan of Burlington and Tom and Sam Reznicek of Baldwin City. Tom and Sam were with Bob and Irma from Friday to Sunday afternoon and helped Bob with field work.

Wilbur Hanschu's family hosted the reunion of the Alex and Susie Hanschu family Sunday at Trinity Lutheran parish hall. About 50 enjoyed the potluck dinner and fellowship. Some who attended were Junior and Jeanetta Hanschu, Jayson and Jan Hanschu, Jakob and Jorge of Hillsboro, Jeff and Jennifer Braden and Joshua of Windom, and Neil and Jolene Albrecht and Kallie of Salina. After the meal, many of the group boarded a trailer while some rode in three cars and took a tour to the farms of Harry, Arthur, Harold, Wilbur, Paul and Junior Hanschu. When they got back to Ramona, they ate hot dogs and leftovers.

Fred and Marguerite Utech and the Jayson Hanschu, Jeff Braden, and Neil Albrecht families were guests of Junior and Jeanetta Hanschu Sunday night. They celebrated the birthdays of Jeff Braden and Neil Albrecht. Ice cream and cake were served.

Junior Hanschu, Velma Krause, and Fern Weber went to Topeka Thursday to attend the funeral of Albina Hanschu Judd at Faith Lutheran Church. Her brothers, Lowell Hanschu of Ramona and Roland Hanschu of California also attended.
