Relay for life is July 29-30 at Hillsboro years ago
American Cancer Society 2005 Relay for Life of Marion County will begin at 7 p.m. July 29 at Tabor College track, Hillsboro.
Cancer survivors will walk the first lap at 7 p.m. A luminary ceremony will be at 10 p.m., followed by people walking a lap in memory of cancer victims.
To register a team, purchase a luminary, or participate as a cancer survivor, contact Jan Helmer at (620) 382-2588.
Nuss, Adkins earn associate degrees
Two area students recently graduated from Pratt Community College.
Scott Nuss, Hillsboro, received an associate of science degree; and Jacob Adkins, Marion, received an associate of applied science degree.
Scholarships awarded to S. Hett, M. Miesse
Two Marion High School 2005 graduates accepted academic scholarships for the 2005-06 academic year to Fort Hays State University, Hays.
Samantha Hett, art education major, and Michelle Miesse, secondary education and English major, each received an $800 Hays City Silver Academic Award.
Hett is the daughter of Glen and Pam Hett, Marion.
Miesse is the daughter of Scott and Laurie Miesse, Marion.
