Remarkable Restraint

Our friend Jack Swain showed remarkable restraint when a vicious dog invaded the Swain property and killed their 14-year old true and faithful friend Andy.

Your Ol' Editor would no doubt have reverted to his World War II .30 cal. rifle and eliminated the wild dog's life then and there, on the spot.

The attacking dog didn't deserve to live, should not have been allowed in town, and should be treated as the undisciplined critter it is.

When animals, two or four legged, invade your property and do damage such as taking the life of a faithful family member, they deserve to be eliminated.

The OE realizes he would be in big trouble, legally, if he let his emotions overrule his common sense. But it's a failing. Jack Swain showed remarkable restraint.

Now, we'd advise Jack and Ella, it's time to get another dog. It'll never be the same. They never are. But each one becomes special.
