Sunday's church service was given by the Rev. Bill Sherfy of the Emmanuel Baptist Church. His wife played the piano.
It was cake baking time Monday morning. A shower for Mike Calhoun's baby was hosted by residents in the afternoon.
The Remy family was here Tuesday morning. They played piano numbers and showed a variety of unusual vegetables they grew in their garden. The little girl showed dolls she had made clothes for. They also told about their busy summer vacations. The prayer group met in the afternoon led by Khrista Branson. She does it nicely, being a minister's wife.
It was "pretty up time" Wednesday morning. The Marion County Record was read to a large group in the afternoon.
The staff is collecting recipes from residents, families, and staff for a St. Luke Living Center cookbook that is to be printed soon. We look forward to it.
Thursday morning was "hymn singing" with Lois Winter at the piano. Book Club met in the afternoon and another chapter was read in the minister's book. Anita Hancock then gave a piano program.
Friday was cookie baking with Amanda McLinden. Lemon sugar cookies were made. Everyone then had cookies and coffee. The afternoon was spent playing Bingo with Amanda calling the numbers. This was followed by group exercises by May Hebrank.
Happy Hustlers 4-H Club gave us a style show last week, modeling their clothes, both homemade and store bought. They were modeled by many girls. We enjoy seeing what our youth are doing.
There was an hour of enjoyable polka and waltz music Saturday morning with Gene Vinduska playing his accordion. Cookies and coffee were served. Video movies were enjoyed in the afternoon along with popcorn.
