Residents urged to go online to support park grant

Central Park Improvement Committee has applied for a $10,000 grant from My Hometown Helper to secure funds for new playground equipment.

Part of the application process requires community support through the Internet.

Those supporters of the park project are encouraged to go to www.myhometownhelper.com/viewproject.aspx?tell=1&id=34968.

Supporters will be required to type in name, address, and date of birth because participants must be 18 years of age or older. The more comments received from supporters, the better the chances of receiving the grant.

The grant is sponsored by Hamburger Helper which is giving away up to $100,000 to help fund projects in hometowns in the U.S.

Donations continue to be accepted for those who want to purchase bricks or stones but they need to do it soon. The committee will continue to sell the bricks and stones until the patio is completed but would like to order the items within a few weeks.
