Reuben Kerbs and the former Lucille Gooding were married Sept. 14, 1952, at St. John's Lutheran Church at Tampa with the late Rev. Alvin Lade officiating.

Both attended Tampa High School.

Lucille has held several jobs, the most important of which was to be a stay-at-home mother and raise her children.

Reuben worked for the Rock Island and Southern Pacific railroads as a signal maintainer, retiring in 1985 after 40 years service. He also spent years farming and continues to enjoy that hobby.
