Rhiney Riffel
Rhiney Riffel, 90, died Jan. 20, 2003, at Junction City where he was a resident of Valley View Professional Care Center.
Services were held Thursday afternoon at Mass-Hinitt Funeral Chapel, Junction City, with burial in Woodbine Cemetery.
Survivors include his wife, Mildred (Soyez) Riffel of Marion; son, Thomas Riffel of Jonesboro, Ga.; daughter, Judy Langvardt of Bridgeton, Mo.; sister, Lavina Fick of Abilene; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Doris, who died in 1987. He was married to Mildred Soyez of Marion in 1987.
He was born Jan. 25, 1912, at Woodbine, the son of Jacob and Ollie (Longhoefer) Riffel.
He graduated from Woodbine High School in 1930.
He had worked for Standard Oil Co, Woodbine, farmed, and worked as an automobile dealer in Junction City.
He was a member of First Baptist Church and former member of Elks Lodge, Eagles, and Lions clubs.
