Richard Atkins
Richard Clinton Atkins, 71, a resident at Friendly Acres Retirement Center, Newton, died April 18, 2004, at Wesley Medical Center, Wichita.
Born Aug. 12, 1932, at Peabody, he was the son of Clinton and Jessie (Hess) Atkins.
He served in the National Guard during the 1950s and worked at various jobs during his lifetime, including hospital security at Bethel Hospital, Newton.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include two sisters, Maxine Seibel of Peabody and Marian Break of Marion; and two brothers, William Atkins of Kansas City and Paul Atkins of Marion.
Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Prairie Lawn Cemetery with Pastor Jim Pohlman of Peabody Christian Church officiating.
A memorial fund has been established with Friendly Acres Retirement Center, Newton.
