I was unable to get my news in last week. They tore the road up in front of my place Monday and I wasn't able to get out until Friday evening. The mail man didn't make it to my box until Wednesday. There has been no traffic for several days.
Clark Strecker and Austin of Andover and Laura Trebolt of Omaha, Neb., came Saturday afternoon after Austin, a member of the Rose Hill grade school football team, played a game in Newton. They were here until Sunday afternoon. My yard looked like a golf course after they got through mowing and weed eating. They also trimmed some trees. Tailor, a cheerleader for the Rose Hill grade school, didn't come with them. She was invited to a birthday party. I'll treasure a picture Clark gave me of Tailor as a cheerleader.

It sure was nice to have 1 1/2 inches of rain Saturday. I was driving home from Pilsen after 6 p.m. and it was raining so hard on the Ramona road that the windshield wipers couldn't keep the windshield clear. I drove down the road following a dark line in the middle of the road.
