Robert Malcom
Robert J. "Bob" Malcom, 74, Herington, died July 23, 2002, at the Lutheran Care Home, Herington.
Born May 23, 1928, at Thayer, he was the son of John A. and Bertha L. (Denney) Malcom.
A memorial service was held Thursday at the Donahue Funeral Home, Herington
Malcom was a concrete contractor. He lived in Herington since 1991. He was wounded during the Korean War, serving in the U.S. Army. He was a member of VFW Post 112 of Wichita and VFW Post 1281 of Herington.
He married Genevieve M. Ford Sept. 11, 1971. She survives. Other survivors include two daughters, Linda Harris of Wichita and Lorrie Lawton of Efland, N.C.; three stepdaughters, Shirley Coleman of Wichita, Pat Douglas of Kingman, and Kay Kandt of Herington; three sisters, Edith Coffer of Kansas City, Joann Mitchell and Olive Morgan, both of Wichita; two granddaughters; 11 stepgrandchildren; a great-grandson; and numerous stepgreat-grandchildren.
