Rolling Hills Zoo is delightful
For two years I have had my heart set on a visit to the Rolling Hills Zoo west of Salina.
I finally got my wish. My son Bud and his wife Lavonne took Margaret Wolf, Marian Crofoot, and me. What a delightful place. First class. Rolling Hills is the proper name and the landscaping alone is worth the trip.
Unusual grasses, plants, and trees beautify the area. The animals were all in well-kept quarters. We saw white tigers and white camels, unusual I think. There were many animals, no elephants, but the giraffes were spectacular. Everyone liked to watch the apes and monkeys. There were lots of birds, inside were parrots and outside near attractive ponds were flamingos, swans, and several kinds of geese.
We were taken around in an eight-passenger covered golf cart. The driver told us about the different displays. She even knew the names of each animal.
Bill and Joan (Meyer) were there the previous week and he had a note on their visit in the Marion County Record. We agree that it is a wonderful and beautiful place.
Have you ever had your name stolen? You know that old saying, "sticks and stones may break my bones, but he who steals my name
Anyway, a collection agent in California sent me a big $17,000 medical bill. That's scary. I wish Carla (Stovall) was still attorney general. I did call them, so hope they can help. I have heard of scams going around but didn't think I would become a victim. I think I will sue them for harassing me!
