Glen and Pam Hett, Morgan, Samantha, and Kyle and Wanda and George Coe hosted a reception honoring Roy Hett's 90th birthday Sunday morning between the worship service and Sunday school at Eastmoor United Methodist Church. Those attending from out of town were Elma Piper of Abilene, Phillip Hett (grandson of the late Wilma Hett) of Lindsborg, Paul and Jane Hett of Parsons, Nancy Remmert and Ben of Parsons, and Marvin and Arlene Sittner of Hudson. Roy and Rose Olive hosted a dinner for all of the above at Kingfisher's Inn following the services. Most all came to the Hett farm for visiting following dinner.

Kristine Bateman visited R.J. and Jeannine this weekend and attended the funeral of Alvin Bernhardt on Saturday. Alvina Skibbe and Jerald Skibbe visited the Batemans after the service. Skip and Eileen Sieger visited R.J. and Jeannine Sunday afternoon.

Virginia Downing, Dorothy and John Hayen, Shirley and David Bowers, and Cy and L.Dena Goertz attended the reception honoring Roy Hett Sunday morning.

Marilyn Geis and her houseguests, Erika Geis and Bill Cook of Barrhead, Alberta, Canada, came to visit John and Dorothy Hayen Sunday afternoon. Marilyn took Erika and Bill to the airport Monday morning.

Shirley and David Bowers attended the funeral of Les Fruechting Thursday morning at the Aulne United Methodist Church. Shirley helped serve the FFA banquet Thursday evening at Eastmoor. Shirley and I were guests at the Athena Study Club spring tea Tuesday afternoon at Eastmoor. We were privileged to hear students of Lenore Mitchell play piano selections. Among the children were Caroline, Hank, and Lucy Collett, children of Anne and Keith Collett and grandchildren of Howard and Beth Collett. The young people are going to be great musicians.

Cy and L.Dena Goertz were Saturday luncheon guests of Shirley and David Bowers. The Bowers helped Marilyn Cox with the Sunday afternoon services at Marion Manor and St. Luke Living Center.

Eileen Sieger, Faye Makovec, and Jeannine Bateman were among those who attended the Marion County Republican Women's luncheon and meeting Wednesday at Hillsboro.

Faye and Jerry Makovec went to the home of Jeff Makovec in Halstead Sunday afternoon and enjoyed grilled hamburgers on the new deck Jeff and Jerry have been building.

Howard and Beth Collett attended the last concert of the community concerts in El Dorado Tuesday evening. They heard the Galaxy Trio. Beth was a guest of Pauline Kelly on Wednesday at a book club meeting at the El Dorado Country Club. Beth and Howard met Nancy Hammond and Don Argo in El Dorado Sunday for dinner.

My sister Jo Gearhart and I drove to Oklahoma City Wednesday to be with our sister Eula Baumgartner as she underwent tests on Thursday. Her tests came out great so we celebrated with lunch at a delightful tea room called Allico's. We would like to move it back to Kansas. We brought raspberry tea back to share with friends.

Emily Johnson received two awards this week at the Junior ROTC award ceremony. One is the superintendent's award for outstanding leadership in her junior year, the other the Dandelion award — she was the only cadet at Wichita Heights to receive either of these awards.
