Roy Seibel

Rex D. Seibel, 73, of McPherson, died Jan. 2, 2004, at Wesley Select Hospital, Wichita.

Born Feb. 25, 1930, at Marion, he was the son of Charles and Carrie (Reichert) Seibel.

On Aug. 1, 1950, he married Geraldine Hornbaker at Hillsboro.

He was a farmer in the Marion County area before moving to McPherson in 1993. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church, McPherson. He was a volunteer for the McPherson County Food Bank and Meals-On-Wheels, a former member of the Moose Lodge in both Hutchinson and Wichita, the Polka Club of America, and the Midwestern Polka Club.

He married Lois Woods on Nov. 15, 1989, at McPherson.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include his wife, Lois of McPherson; three daughters, Judie Steiner and Lynda Krahl of McPherson and Lisa Nelson of Kansas City, Mo.; a son, Larry Woods of Lowell, Ark.; nine grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Glidden-Ediger Chapel, McPherson. Graveside services were held at 1 p.m. Monday at Ebenfeld Cemetery, rural Hillsboro. The Rev. Mike Marion and the Rev. Bob Fleenor officiated.

Memorials have been established with McPherson County Food Bank or First United Methodist Church, McPherson.
