Ruth Fisher
Ruth (Roseberry) Fisher, 90, Marion, died June 11, 2003, at St. Luke Hospital. Services were held Saturday morning at Zeiner Funeral Home.
She was born at Chicago, Ill., in 1913, the youngest of six children.
Only one brother survives, Earl, who resides in Florida.
She married Frank Fisher in 1934. The couple had two children, Jay and Connie.
The family moved to Marion in 1950, where the children attended school and graduated from Marion High School. Frank was employed by Marion County Highway and Bridge Department.
Son Jay married and moved to Chicago. Daughter Connie resides in Marion.
Frank died in 1975.
Active in the Order of Eastern Star as chapter secretary and willing worker, she also was active in Valley United Methodist Church and sang in the Sweet Adelines.
In addition to her brother and two children, she is survived by her daughter-in-law, Shirley Fisher, two grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren
The Rev. Kennedy Mukwindidza officiated at the funeral. Greg Carlson was the vocalist and Rachel Davidson the organist.
Casket bearers were Les, Chris, and Eric Byer, Bob Edmunds, Ralph Kreutziger, and Ralph Noriega.
Burial was in Marion Cemetery.
A memorial fund has been established in her name with the Leukemia Society of America.
