Sam Alvarez
Sam D. Alvarez, 44, died Feb. 5, 2005, at his home at Lost Springs.
Born March 8, 1960, at Tonopah, Nev., he was the son of Manuel and Delora (Smith) Alvarez.
He managed Al's Café in Lost Springs and was a member of St. John Nep. Church, Pilsen.
He was preceded in death by his father, Manuel; and a sister, Vicki Makovec.
Survivors include two daughters, Samantha Jo and Brianna Renee Alvarez, both of Lost Springs; his mother, Delora (Dee) Alvarez of Lost Springs; and four sisters, Theresa Morrical of Brookville, Audrey Alvarez and Tammi Roth, both of Herington, and Diane Sader of Greenwood, La.
The rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Thursday at St. John Nep. Church, Pilsen.
Funeral Mass will be said at 10 a.m. Friday at St. John Nep. Church, Pilsen, with Fr. Stephen Gronert as celebrant.
Burial will be in Mount Saint Joseph Cemetery, Abilene.
Visitation is scheduled for 2 to 6 p.m. Thursday at Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home, Herington Chapel.
A memorial fund has been established for his daughters' education with Central National Bank, Herington.
