Sanine Bollig
Sanine L. Bollig, 77, died May 19, 2004, at Hays Medical Center.
Born Feb. 28, 1927, in Tampa, she was the daughter of Vincent and Maria (Flock) Mastek.
She attended schools in Tampa and was a graduate of Fort Hays State University.
On May 1, 1954, she married Leonard John Bollig in Tampa. He died in 1994.
She was a school teacher, retiring after 44 years. She was a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, the VFW auxiliary, AARP, and the Retired Teachers Union, all in Hays. She also was a hospital volunteer.
She was preceded in death by a son, John Leonard Bollig in 1958; two brothers, Albert Mastek and Joe Mastek; and two sisters, Marcelle Collins and Francis Malir.
Survivors include a son, James Bollig of Hays; and three sisters, Agnes Bina of Marion, Margaret Jirak of Tampa, and Madeline Anderson of Clay Center.
Funeral services were held Friday afternoon at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, Hays, with the Rev. Kevin Weber and the Rev. John Jirak officiating.
Burial was in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Hays.
A memorial fund has been established in her name, with the recipient to be determined later.
