Sassy Senior Moments

Is May a busy month or what? Even in a place where we're slower-paced and mellow, things are keeping us alert and ready for new events.
We helped celebrate Lanell Hett's 25 years working for the Department for the Elderly. Then we welcomed Jayne Gottschalk, who will be the new department coordinator.
More artwork came in, including some by Eileen Sieger, Madonna Schafers, and Evelyn Jewett. Mary Hett brought an afghan she had completed and Shirley Bowers displayed several small quilts.
Beulah Weigart brought us treats for her birthday, which was May 6. Norine Holtsclaw brought in one large yellow iris for us to enjoy.
"No Socks Day" was May 8, but I didn't tell everyone ahead of time. They didn't seem inclined to want to remove their socks, either.
The Senior Center Sensations went to the WALK Kansas final gathering and won several individual prizes.
We have a new shipment of greeting cards and napkins.
We have a new vacuum sweeper bought with funds from our craft corner.
