Center needs quilters

March 2-8

The Craft Corner is quilting only small items such as baby quilts. We need some more quilters. The tea towels that are hand-embroidered are big sellers. They now have very contemporary designs such as lighthouses, dolphins, or elephants.

We have received a new shipment of greeting cards.

Marion County Democratic Women ate lunch Friday with us. They provided a program for everyone. Harry Bennett spoke about his Peace Corps experiences in Belize and his work with Oxfam America.

Albert Steele brought in artwork Wednesday by his son. The subject was penguins, very popular now, but this piece of art was done 20 years ago.

We sang "Happy Birthday" Wednesday to Madonna Schafers. It would have been Dorothy Hayen's 100th birthday. Virginia Downing made one of her mom's signature recipes, extra chocolatey brownies, in her memory.

Herb Jackson, Madonna Schafers, and Shirley Bowers provided a musical program Wednesday. There were several solos including Madonna singing "Ava Maria." The group joined in singing several hymns.

Come join us March 22 when we will have a sing-along led by Shirley Bowers.
