Sassy senior moments: Singing Sensations perform

May 11-17

Senior Center Day was Wednesday. The Singing Sensations featuring Madonna Schafers, Virginia Downing, Sue Clough, Marilyn Geis, Doris Ewert, and Estelle McCarty sang two songs. Ellen Darrow was the accompanist.

We had planned to watch the Marion High School prom video but by the time it worked, most people had left. The rest of us enjoyed the promenade. There were grandchildren several of us claimed.

The senior center is a place with an open microphone atmosphere. We never know quite what will happen each day or who will bring what for show and tell.

Shirley Moore came in one day with a red hat, purple boa, and a bear. The bear played "Girls Just Wanna Have Fun."

Elsie Reiswig brought in pretty Mother's Day placemats she created on her computer and printer.

Check out our craft corner. There are new items each day. The quilting women are back at work and we're glad when they're busy. We got a bit of publicity at the Ramona tea party when they mentioned the gift shop that carries embroidered tea towels.

We received an invitation for Almeda Kahns' 80th birthday in June. She was our assistant cook for a number of years.

Lanell Hett brought pink roses from her flower bed. They opened beautifully.

Come join us Friday for card bingo after lunch. A sing-along with Shirley Bowers is scheduled May 31.
