Sassy Senior Moments: Sonic Sams campers visit center
By JANET BRYANT
Senior center reporter
We welcomed the Sonic Sams campers from Wichita who ate with us a couple days. They often eat at senior centers when they camp together.
The newsletter crew met Sept. 26 and made quick work of putting the newsletter together. The group included Elsie Reiswig, Ivanlee and Mary Ann Timm, Beulah Weigart, Lydia Batt, Jane Makovec, Nora Richter, Evelyn Jewett, Norma Woerz, Lois and June Jost, and Doris Ewert.
Max Ewert came to the senior center with his mom and later read some cowboy poetry for us.
We helped Shirley Bowers celebrate her 75th birthday this week.
Flu shots will be given from 9 to 11 a.m. Monday.
After tying several quilts, the women are back to actually quilting one.
Reservations need to be made for Marion County Senior Citizens annual meeting Oct. 20. The meal is by reservation only, and the cost is $4. Call the center at 382-2942 for reservations.
Pamela Johnson-Betts, director of Kansas Department on Aging, will be the speaker. Margaret Vinduska will play the organ in the morning. Marion High School Singers will perform at 12:30 p.m.
