Sassy senior moments: Students exhibit Bal-A-Vis-X program

By JANET BRYANT

Senior center reporter

We had two excellent programs this week. Janet Ingram, Avon outreach nurse, Salina Regional Health Center gave a presentation Wednesday on breast and other cancers. She also gave away several door prizes.

We welcomed the Marion County retired school personnel Thursday to eat lunch with us. They provided a two-part program. Pam Jones and several elementary school students demonstrated the Bal-A-Vis-X program with bouncing balls. She planned on having students whose grandparents ate at the center. The only grandchild was my grandson, David Helmer.

Gordon Mohn, superintendent of Hillsboro school district also spoke on issues facing all Marion County schools.

We celebrated the birthdays of Almeda Kahns and Iva Unruh.

Lanell Hett told us Friday it was National Donut day, so June Jost jumped up and purchased some for our coffee break. It also was Hug Your Cat Day, but no one went after their cat.

Come join us for lunch on Senior Center day, June 15. The program following will be given by Michael Leonard of Walton.
