Sassy senior moments: We give thanks

I'm writing this the day after Thanksgiving, thinking of what we are thankful for — a place to gather to eat good food with friends, a chance to have fun and celebrate special occasions. For those receiving meals-on-wheels, we're thankful for volunteer drivers. We're also thankful for quilters, tea towel embroiderers, and dining room volunteers. One day a year is not enough for all our thanks.

June Jost played his French harp for us one day and since Leonard Klassen knew the German words to one of the songs, he agreed to sing for us.

Marilyn Geis celebrated her birthday Friday. It also was Mickey Mouse's 77th birthday. Shirley Bowers brought her Mickey Mouse collection and we sang the "Mickey Mouse" song.

Vern Bowers celebrated his birthday Monday.

The quilt with names on it was sold to Virginia Bowers after a last minute flurry of bids.

Join us Dec. 7 when Woody Crawshaw will go over points about the casino issue.
