Schmidt, Kerbs are married at Dodge City
Leah Cathryn Schmidt and Clayton Ison Kerbs of Omaha, Neb., were married Dec. 30, 2005, at First Christian Church, Dodge City. Pastor Gerald Rendel officiated.
Parents of the bride are Charles and Tammie West of Dodge City and Joel and Patsy Schmidt of Greensburg. The groom's parents are Glenn and Eloise Kerbs of Dodge City.
Grandparents of the bride are Dona Wallace and the late John Wallace, Mabel Schmidt and the late John Schmidt, and Virginia West and the late Arthur West.
Grandparents of the groom are Reuben and Lucille Kerbs, Bill and Bernita Carl, and the late Billy Ison.
Pianist was Susan Ridgeway. Taylor Thompson, Carrie Conant, and Greg Preston were vocalists.
Candles were lighted by Sarah Arndt and Amber Preston. Greeters were April and Molly Kerbs.
Guest book and gift attendants were Allison Stanley and Shelbie Preston.
Ashton Smith and Rustyn Kerbs read scriptures selected by the couple.
Cristy Kerbs was the matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Tenely Wallace, Amanda Burney, Jetta Holloway, and Deena Ploutz.
Reuben Kerbs served his brother as best man. Groomsmen were Brett Boatright, John Culver, Will Tresner, and Andrew Geha.
Guests were seated by Logan Schmidt, Thad Brensing, Brian Maple, and Chas Fernandez.
A reception and dance were held at the Dodge City Country Club.
Both the bride and groom are graduates of Dodge City High School. Leah is a graduate of Metropolitan Community College, Omaha, Neb. Her husband is a graduate of Creighton University, Omaha, Neb.
The couple lives in Topeka where Clayton will attend Washburn University School of Law.
