Schmidt wedding
Jillyn Peters and Tray Schmidt were united in marriage Aug. 24, 2002, in a garden wedding at the farm home of Deanna Klenda. The Rev. David Thompson and Deacon Robert Hirst officiated at the double ring ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of Deanna Klenda of rural Marion and Ted and Linda Peters of Wichita. She is the granddaughter of Adeline Peters of Wichita, the late Theo H. Peters, and the late Albert and Pauline Klenda.
The groom's parents are Tracy and Kay Schmidt of Manhattan. His grandparents are Viona Schmidt of Junction City, the late Albert Ray Schmidt, R.F. Mooney of Topeka, and the late Corinne Mooney.
Jamie Krehbiel of Manhattan was maid of honor. Bridesmaids were the bride's sister-in-law Christy Peters of Wichita and the groom's sisters Kacy Schmidt and Davina Hirsch, both of Manhattan.
Gavin Banister of Manhattan served the groom as best man. Groomsmen were Aaron Parks of Manhattan and the bride's brothers Gavin and Kyle Peters of Wichita.
Guests were seated by the groom's brothers, Troy and Jacy Schmidt.
Mr. and Mrs. Rocky Hett and Mr. and Mrs. John Griffith served as hosts.
A dinner, reception, and dance followed the ceremony in the garden setting at the Klenda home.
The couple resides in Manhattan.
