Scrivner, Steiner named students of month
Marion High School students William Scriven and Amanda Steiner have been selected as students of the month by the MHS faculty.
William, a senior, is the son of Larry and Gayle Scriven of Florence. His father is a computer programmer for Hay and Forage, Hesston, and his mother is a librarian at Florence Library. He is a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Peabody.
At MHS he is involved in Scholars' Bowl, debate, and as football manager. He has been involved in 4-H. Hobbies include rocketry and Generation Z, a program that trains students in computer skills so they can assist teachers and the public.
He plans to attend the University of Kansas.
Amanda, a junior, is the daughter of Perry and Barb Steiner of Marion. Barb is a nurse at Marion Family Physicians. She has a brother, Eric, a freshman at MHS, and a sister, Victoria, a second grader at Marion Elementary School. She is a member of Valley United Methodist Church.
At MHS, she is involved in KEY Club, forensics, youth court, and the youth leadership team.
Her hobbies include making scrapbooks and collecting Beanie Babies.
She plans to attend college.
