Seibels to celebrate 60th anniversary years ago
Mr. and Mrs. Wallace Seibel, Peabody, will be honored at an open house celebration from 2 to 4 p.m. April 5 in recognition of the 60th wedding anniversary.
Hosted by their children, the open house will be held in the community room of Indian Guide Terrace, 501 N. Vine Street, Peabody.
The couple will be renewing their wedding vows at 3 p.m.
Betty M. Newton and Wallace C. Seibel were married April 5, 1943, at the home of her parents in Peabody.
The couple has made their home in Peabody since Wallace's discharge from the U.S. Air Force in 1946.
Wallace retired in 1985 following 15 years with the Kansas Power & Light Company and 21 years with the Hesston Corporation. Betty was employed at J.C. Penney's in Newton for six years and by Jim's Jack and Jill in Peabody prior to her retirement in 1986. From 1961 to 1969, the couple owned and operated Vic's Café in downtown Peabody.
Their five children are Judy Eskridge of Valley Center, Pat Hall and husband Gary of Wichita, David Seibel and wife Deb of Altoona, Iowa, Richard Seibel and wife Sharla of Dumas, Texas, and Debra Brewer and husband Bruce of Peabody. They also have 13 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
Family and friends are invited to attend the celebration. It is requested there be no gifts.
