Seifert and Luna lead Centre girls in sweep at triangular

Centre High School volleyball team won a triangular held Sept. 27 at St. Xavier High School in Junction City.
Centre defeated Sunrise Christian Academy in two games, 25-20 and 25-21, and St. Xavier in two games, 25-5 and 25-11.
Selena Seifert served for 11 points against Sunrise. She also set the ball 46-of-47 times, 18 for a kill.
Jackie Klenda was 18-of-21 in spikes, with four kills. Alisha Barney was 12-of-14, including nine kills.
In the match with St. Xavier, Alyssa Luna served for 12 points including four aces. Kylie Burhoop served for nine points including five aces.
Klenda was 7-of-8 in spiking with three kills. Barney was 6-of-6, all kills. Gutsch was a perfect 8-of-8 for two kills. She blocked the ball three times.
Both Seifert and Samantha Alvarez were 15-of-15 in setting.
CHS is now 9-8.
