Marion Senior Center was buzzing with activity and fun this past week. The wedding anniversary of Harold and Virginia Bowers was celebrated Monday. Virginia's daughter Jan Slay was a guest that day.
On Tuesday, two staff members of Area Agency on Aging visited. They had various items of business to do. The center also hosted the ONE committee meeting. County senior center managers and others meet quarterly to discuss issues and concerns and give each other valuable ideas.
The birthday of Viola Kelsey was celebrated, as was the 50 year birthday of WD40, the Corvette, and TV dinners.
The seniors at the center have been enjoying the "Rural Rules" printed in a recent issue of the Marion County Record.
Ralph and Luella Popp were welcomed back following Ralph's recuperation from surgery. Regular diners are important people.
There still are a few weeks of summer left for any teen-ager who might want to deliver meals. It takes less than an hour and the people who receive the meals each day would be delighted to see them.
We have entertainment or information lined up for several Wednesdays after lunch. Janet Marler, Marion City librarian, will be here July 23.
