Shirley Moore
Shirley H. Moore, 79, El Dorado, died April 17, 2002, at Via Christi Hospital in Wichita.
Memorial services were held Saturday at Kirby-Morris Funeral Home, El Dorado.
She was the widow of Randolph "Randy" Moore, who was well known in the automobile business in Central Kansas, and the mother of Brian Moore, husband of Ann (Higgins) Moore of Bellevue, Wash.
Born Oct. 23, 1922, in New Haven, Conn., she was the daughter of the late George and Anna (Moeller) Brown.
She was married to Randolph Moore May 30, 1953, in New Mexico.
She moved to El Dorado in 1958 and worked first for the Woolworth store, then First Supply, and Kansas Farm Bureau Insurance. She attended the Presbyterian church and devoted many hours of volunteer service to the auxiliary of Susan B. Allen Memorial Hospital, the Safe House, and American Red Cross Bloodmobile.
She was a member of EHU, Life Enrichment, Town and Country Friends, American Legion Auxiliary, and Friends of the Library. She enjoyed dancing, art, and reading.
A memorial has been established in her name with Safe House for Battered Women in El Dorado.
Survivors include her sons, Brian of Bellevue, Wash., and Kurt of Los Alamos, N.M.; and three granddaughters, Allison, Adrienne, and Emily Moore. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and one brother.
