Siegers enjoy Thanksgiving in Illinois

Skip and Eileen Sieger left early Wednesday morning for Champaign, Ill., to spend Thanksgiving with Chris and Lesley Allen since they were unable to come home for Thanksgiving due to an accident involving a deer. On Thanksgiving day the four of them drove to Chicago to spend the day with Chris' sister and family, Tina and Qais Azar and daughters Tibet and Zainah. Also there were Chris' mother Rosie Allen from Topeka and his other sister Abby Allen from Boston. The Siegers drove home on Sunday.
Skip and Eileen Sieger, Shirley and David Bowers, and Leonard and Rosalie Klassen attended the Co-op annual meeting Tuesday evening at the Tabor College gym in Hillsboro.
Doug and Janelle Paden, Matthew, Abigail, and Jonathan hosted the Bowers Thanksgiving dinner Thursday in Newton. Guests were Mary Lou and Rick Just and Kyle, Beverly and Kevin Jennison, Betsy and Randy Bunnel, Joshua and Kelli, Greg and Mary Beth Bowers, Rhonny, Steven, and Luke, and Shirley and David Bowers. David and Shirley brought the Paden children home with them for a few days visit. Other weekend visitors at the Bowers home were Mary Lou and Rick Just and Kyle, Eric Just and his friend Andrea from Manhattan, and Rhonny Bowers.
Thanksgiving guests of Leonard and Rosalie Klassen were Vickie Fisher, Ashley, Aaron, and Allegra. They spent the night Thursday and returned Friday to Wichita.
Don and Vickie Kraus hosted Thanksgiving dinner for Jeremy and Melanie Dunn, Tristin and Grant of Coldwater, Nick and Stephanie Kraus, Kristi and Chris Mercer and Braedon of Topeka, Jerry and Mildred Vajnar, and Jane and Pete Combs of Newton.
Richard and Patty McLinden and Roseva McLinden took advantage of the beautiful Thanksgiving weather. They flew to Beaumont and ate Thanksgiving dinner at the Beaumont Hotel dining room.
Greg and Mary Beth Bowers, Rhonny and Luke hosted a Thanksgiving soup supper at their home Thursday evening for the Kjellin family. Guests were Charles Kjellin, Karen and Dale Kelly, Mark and David of Nixa, Pat and Daryl Enos and Mitch, Doug and Amy Kjellin, Erik, Andrew, and Adam of McPherson.
Faye and Jerry Makovec served Thanksgiving dinner Sunday to Donita and Gary Turk, Adam, Brian, Chelsea, and Holly Oakleaf of Baldwin City, Joe and Aaron Makovec of Newton, Jeff Makovec of Halstead, and Tim and Becky Makovec, Morgan and Tyler. Faye and Jerry and Vicki Smolik attended the music concert Monday at the grade school. Morgan was in the program.
Ken and Margie Nienstedt, Theron Nienstedt, Annette Nienstedt and Layne, and Marjorie Nienstedt of Antelope had Thanksgiving dinner in Lincolnville at the community building hosted by the Richmond sisters.
Rosalene and Charles Stinchcomb drove to Russell for Thanksgiving dinner with Charlie and Barb Stinchcomb. Additional guests were Charlene and Ralph Janzen, Norma Weber, Susie and Dick Mueller, and Mike and Emma Stinchcomb.
Marie Navrat had her family at Hilltop for Thanksgiving dinner. Her guests were Donna Cherry and Bob, Pat Navrat, Ron and Deb Navrat, Joe and Lisa Navrat, Jason and Celide Navrat, and Cody and Shelly Ratzloff, Ashley, Amber, and Samantha. Marie Navrat was a Saturday Thanksgiving guest of the Bell family.
Roy and Rose Olive Hett and Pam and Glen Hett, Samantha and Kyle were Thanksgiving day guests in Lincolnville at the Richmond family get together. Thanksgiving evening Wanda and George Coe from Wichita came with all the food for another dinner. Rose Olive got word Sunday that her cousin, Albert Haber from California had died. This leaves only three cousins in her generation still living.
Louis and Sarah Stika enjoyed Thanksgiving dinner with Rita and Jeff Tomlinson. Other guests were Gary Tomlinson, Janet and Doug Marler, Kevin Marler, Amanda Overlin, Tori Marler, Katie Marler, and Trinity Overlin.
Dorothy Hayen entered St. Luke Living Center Tuesday. Visitors during the week were Harold Conyers, Jim and Carol Hett, Leon and Cate Hayen, Marilyn Geis and granddaughters Lisa and Lauren Geis and Kristen Geis, Max and Donna Hayen, and Virginia Downing.
I drove to Wichita Wednesday and prepared a welcome home supper for Emily Johnson as she arrived from Texas for Thanksgiving. I was a guest of Wilma Johnson for Thanksgiving dinner Thursday and returned home Friday morning.
Jeannine Bateman was in Overland Park from Sunday through Tuesday, attending the Kansas Association of Counties meeting. Kristine joined her and got to perform Jazzercise at half-time at the Oakland/Kansas City Chiefs football game. Alvina Skibbe had Thanksgiving dinner at her home in Newton for Jeannine Bateman and Kristin, Jerald Skibbe of Greensburg, and Daryl and Connie Skibbe, Eric and Christopher of Newton.
Cy and L.Dena Goertz had Thanksgiving dinner at the community Thanksgiving dinner at the middle school in Marion. The Goertzes had a second dinner on Friday at Clint and Diana Josts. This was a traditional German dinner with all the trimmings.
Theresa and Rod Linton, Ashley and Lacey of Phillpsburg came Friday to visit Vicki Smolik and returned home Sunday. Vicki served Thanksgiving supper Saturday night to Rod and Theresa, Ashley and Lacey, Paul and Kathy Swan, Justin and Katrina Griffin, Kandace and Kassidy, Tim and Becky Makovec, Morgan and Tyler, and Edmund Steiner.
Alvina Hoffman had Thanksgiving dinner with Edna Winter.
