SOndergards to observe anniversary

Alfred and Darlene Sondergard of Ramona will celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary with a private celebration in Ramona. Their children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren will be hosts.

Alfred J. Sondergard and Darlene Helbach met while attending high school in Ramona. They were married Sept. 6, 1942, at the home of her parents.

Alfred served in the United States Navy during World War II.

Al and Darlene are life-long residents of Marion County and Ramona. They owned and operated the Ramona Garage until their retirement.

The couple has worked as a team throughout their marriage. Family, friends, and church have always been important in their lives.

They have three daughters: Karen Ehrlich and husband Bob of Marion, Marilyn Peterson and husband Jim of Burdick, and Kaye Risser and husband Earl of Hope.

Their eight grandchildren are Julie Spark, Emporia, and her fiancé David Sellmeyer, Vinita, Okla.; Sheri Plenert, Raleigh, N.C.; Lorie Scott, Spring Hill; Mike Peterson, Lyndon; Jamey Dalke and husband Matt, Hillsboro; Brad Pagenkopf and wife Amy, Lost Springs; Brian Pagenkopf, Lincolnville; and Mary Evans and husband Chad, Herington.

The couple's five great-grandchildren are Kasey Peterson, Lyndon; Reagan Dalke, Hillsboro; Braden and Garhett Pagenkopf, Lost Springs; and Kaytlyn Evans, Herington.
