South Korean student to stay with Arnholds

The Ken and Teri Arnhhold family in Marion is growing, thanks to the assistance of the SHARE! local coordinators, Carol and Maynard Duerksen/Knepp.

The Arnholds will host Yoon-Jeong Lee from Seoul, South Korea, who will arrive in August and attend Marion High School during the upcoming school year.

"Many people, especially today, are left feeling there is nothing we can do to help with peace in this world. But there is! Now, more than ever, people need to promote world peace and understanding, and I don't know of a better way than to bring students from other countries into our communities," said Mari Karlsson, Central States director for the SHARE! Program.

"These teen-agers are young adults who are impressionable and eager to learn more about America firsthand — they are tomorrow's leaders," she added.

Students become "family members" and participate actively with their host families.

The SHARE! Program has several exchange students who need host families for the upcoming school year. The students are 15 to 18 years old, speak English, and have their own spending money and medical insurance. The host family provides a home away from home.
