Stacy and Nathan Ross

Jester Park Lodge, Saylorville Lake, Saylorville, Iowa, was the setting Aug. 17, 2002, for the wedding of Stacy Renae Schmidtberger and Nathan Blair Ross, both of Ankeny, Iowa.

Pastor Troy Stein of the First Assembly of God Church, Grinnell, Iowa, officiated at the double ring ceremony.

The bride is the daughter of are Mark and Debbie Carver of Grinnell, Iowa, and Roger Schmidtberger of Toddville, Iowa. The groom's parents are Melody Wallace and Brian Huff of Ankeny and Lewis Ross of Des Moines, Iowa.

Music for the ceremony was provided by the Don Kelly DJ Services of Newton, Iowa.

Given in marriage by her parents, the bride wore a white satin gown exclusively designed for her by David's Bridal. A cathedral-length train and fingertip-length veil completed her ensemble. She carried a colonial bouquet of white silk roses highlighted with white, hunter green, and burgundy ribbons. A tie clasp belonging to her late grandfather, Bill Edmunds, was entwined in the ribbons. Her jewelry consisted of a necklace given to her mother by her father while they were dating.

Mrs. Chris Houdesheldt of Ankeny attended the bride as matron of honor. Trinette Edwards of Newton, Iowa, was bridesmaid. They wore identical floor-length gowns of hunter green featuring floor sweep trains. Each carried burgundy silk roses with hunter green and burgundy ribbons. The bride's personal attendant was Missy Montague of Salina, Kan.

Ashley Schmidtberger, niece of the bride, was flower girl. Austin Schmidtberger, the bride's nephew, was ring bearer. They are from Des Moines, Iowa.

Chris Houdesheldt of Ankeny served the groom as best man. Josiah Ross, brother of the groom, also of Ankeny, was groomsman. Guests were seated by the bride's brother, David Schmidtberger of W. Des Moines.

The groom's sister Arriane Ross of Johnston, Iowa, was the guest book and gift attendant.

All flowers for the ceremony were made by the bride. Instead of a unity candle, the bride and groom tied a unity ribbon while Josiah Ross played "Trumpet Voluntary."

Parents of the couple were hosts at the reception which was held in Jester Park Lodge. Reception attendants were the bride's uncle and aunt Michael and Brenda Schmidtberger of Marion, Iowa, and the groom's sister and husband, Tara and Jim Webber of Ames, Iowa.

The bride is a 1997 graduate of Colfax-Mingo High School and a 2002 graduate of Iowa State University. She is employed as a CNA at Mary Greeley Medical Center in Ames. The groom is a 1998 graduate of Ankeny High School. He is a certified mechanic for Willy's of Ames.

Following a camping trip to Red Rock Lake in Iowa, the couple resides at Ankeny, Iowa.

Guests from Kansas attending the wedding included the bride's grandparents Charles and Rosalie Schmidtberger and Virginia Edmunds; Melvin Honeyfield, Marion; Lori Loney, Wichita; and Dennis and Donna Albrecht, Russell.
