Stanley Konarik

Stanley Konarik, 99, died Dec. 1, 2006, at Golden Living Center, Marion.

Born May 4, 1907, at Marak, Texas, he was the son of Peter and Agnes (Mikula) Konarik.

He moved with his family to Kansas in 1919, and lived northwest of Pilsen.

On Oct. 10, 1933, he married Elsie Holub. In 1946, they moved to Lincolnville.

He was a mechanic who worked for automobile agencies and farm equipment dealerships in Marion and Lincolnville. He was a volunteer for the Lincolnville Fire Department for 20 years.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Elsie; brother, Rudy; and sister, Agnes Klenda.

Survivors include a sister, Martha Melcher of Tampa; and nieces and nephews.

The rosary and funeral Mass were said Tuesday morning at Holy Family Parish, Pilsen, with Fr. Hien Nguyen as celebrant.

Music was provided by Rose Davidson and Mary Griffith.

Casket bearers were Chris Vinduska, Scott Melcher, Steve Konarik, Jim Konarik, Doug Konarik, and Steve Svoboda.

Burial was in Pilsen Cemetery.

A memorial fund has been established with the Fr. Kapaun Guild.
