Stepping Stones Preschool welcomes new teacher

Patty McCully of Newton has been hired by Valley United Methodist Church as the new instructor for Stepping Stones Preschool.

McCully is a native of Hutchinson and lives in Newton.

The mother of four has at least 20 years of experience working with children. She operated a group day-care in Hutchinson for 14 years.

After a brief time at Medical Center West in Hutchinson, she joined the Prairie View staff at Newton as an instructor in a special purpose school.

McCully has a degree in child development. She said she answered an ad in the paper because she enjoys working with children.

Twenty-seven preschoolers were enrolled in Stepping Stones this past year.

Board member Mary Jeffrey said the preschool is available to children throughout the area. Class size is limited to 12.

Enrollment is open now, with preschool starting the first week of September. Placement is available for 48 children.

Classes will be conducted for four-year-olds in half-day sessions Monday, Wednesday, and Friday mornings or afternoons. Three-year-olds will meet Tuesday and Thursday mornings or afternoons.
