Charles and Rosalene Stinchcomb returned Saturday evening after spending the winter in Big Bend, Texas. They followed Harold and Virginia Bowers home and wish the weather was more "spring-like" here. The Stinchcombs visited Charlene and Ralph Janzen in Hillsboro Sunday and had dinner together.

Eileen and Skip Sieger returned Friday from their trip to St. Louis, Mo., and Champaign, Ill. While in St. Louis, they visited the Missouri Botanical Orchid Show and stayed with John and Joan Mannhard. Eileen bought two more orchid plants. In Champaign, they visited Chris and Lesley Allen and drove to Rantoul, Ill., where they toured an aviation museum.

I called on Walt and Betty Ireland Saturday morning for a short visit.

Vicki Smolik, Paul and Kathy Swan, Tim and Becky Makovec, Morgan and Tyler, and Katrina Griffin, Kandace and Kassidy drove to Phillipsburg Saturday to have an Early Easter dinner and egg hunt with Theresa and Rod Linton, Ashley and Lacey. They returned home Sunday evening.

I made a mistake last week on Dorothy Hayen's visitors. It was Mrs. Charles Goering and her newly-married daughter, Ruby Kruse, who visited her. Dorothy called and asked me to correct this. She wrote the news for 25 years and said she surely knew how easy it is to get names wrong!

Betsy Bunnel, Joshua and Kelli of Welda came Friday night and stayed through Saturday at the home of Shirley and David Bowers. David and Shirley were in Salina Friday to attend the memorial service of David's nephew, Ronnie Bowers. Greg Bowers went with them to the service.

I visited Marian Crofoot Friday morning and she showed me the Eastmoor history book she is working on.

Jackie Hett was a Sunday noon dinner guest of Melinda and Ken Helmer, Leslie and Lauren of Andover. She was a supper guest of Melanie and Larry Ensey and family in Valley Center.

Nicky Hoffman visited Alvina Hoffman Sunday afternoon and took her an Easter lily. Alvina always brought Easter lilies from Nicky to the Youngtown for services, but will just enjoy this one at her apartment. Alvina played piano for the hymn sing Thursday morning at Marion Manor. While there, she visited Helen Bailey and Helen Stromberg. Clara Razor celebrated her 90th birthday Wednesday and Alvina joined other September ladies in wishing her a happy birthday.

Howard and Beth Collett and Shirley and David Bowers attended the funeral service for Lola Hammer last week. This was the first burial at Grant Township Cemetery since K-150 was closed last fall.

Mary Beth Bowers did a puppet program in Goessel Friday evening for a mother-daughter pizza supper in the elementary school.

Leonard and Rosalie Klassen took Aaron and Allegra Fisher home Tuesday and spent the night with Vickie and Marv Fisher. The Klassens attended the memorial service for Ruby Hett Thursday afternoon at the Aulne United Methodist Church. They drove to Wichita Sunday afternoon for the Singing Quakers Tour home concert. The Klassens and Fishers had supper together before returning home.

I visited Martha Hood at St. Luke Hospital Friday afternoon. Betty May took her to Charla Wheeler's home Saturday where she is recuperating form her back problem.

Betty May, Gerry Mills, and I had dinner together Sunday at McGillicuddy's.

Chelsea Turk and Aaron Makovec spent several days last week with their grandparents, Faye and Jerry Makovec. Donita and Gary Turk, Adam and Brian and Jeff Makovec and Holly Oakleaf came for Sunday dinner and took Chelsea back home.

Our weather can't make up its mind — winter or spring. One day it will be lovely and warm, and the next day, down in the 20s. The calendar says it's spring, so we should be seeing spring flowers soon.
