Stolen oil pump motors recovered
On July 17, Marion County Sheriff Deputy Jim Philpott responded to a report of stolen oil pump motors at a business in Lost Springs. In June, an employee had observed an individual loading some items, including the motors, into a truck. The individual was told to return the items and the employee thought the items were returned. The motors were found missing July 16. Two motors were recovered July 17 in Herington. The other motors were recovered Aug. 28 in Lost Springs. Total loss was estimated at $300.
At 1:45 p.m. July 23, an individual went to second individual's residence on 100th Road, Peabody, and threatened the resident. The first individual threatened to assault the second individual's girlfriend, returned to her vehicle and started to back out of the driveway. The first individual exited the vehicle and threw rocks at the victim and house and then left the premises, reported Deputy Philpott.
Individual(s) tried to open a pop machine with a pry bar Oct. 8 at the heated dock at Marion County Lake. The individual(s) were unable to open the machine and damaged a door. Deputy Duane McCarty reported the individual(s) then threw chicken liver fish bait on the walls, floor, and ceiling of the heated dock, causing $270 in damages.
At 7:19 p.m. Oct. 19, individual(s) entered a farm field on Remington Road and took a gravity-fed grain box trailer. The loss was valued at $2,500, reported Deputy McCarty.
