Stopped vehicle results in DUI arrest of driver
Marion Police Officers assisted Marion County Sheriff's Deputies Friday with an individual who was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
Jan. 9: Suspicious activity was checked in the 400 block of North Locust Street, Marion; everything was OK. A follow-up was conducted on a theft investigation.
Tuesday: A dog was picked up in the 400 block of North Locust Street. An investigation continued regarding a sexual assault case. An individual was taken to a family member's residence regarding a domestic issue.
Wednesday: A hit and run accident was investigated; follow-up interviews were conducted with a suspect. Parents of a juvenile who was involved in a trespassing investigation met with an officer.
Thursday: Inspections of vehicle identification numbers were provided at the police department. An individual was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs after a report was made of a subject slumped over the steering wheel of a vehicle two miles north of Marion on Sunflower Road; a sheriff's deputy received assistance with the arrest. A report of a suicidal juvenile in the 800 block of Maple Street resulted in a subject being taken into custody and transported to Prairie View, Newton.
Friday: Assistance was given to a sheriff's deputy with an injury accident on U.S.-56. An officer investigated a complaint of cruelty to animals in the 400 block of South Roosevelt Street.
Saturday: A follow-up investigation was conducted on a theft case. A civil standby was provided at St. Luke Living Center. A dog was picked up in Central Park for running at-large. Subjects met with an officer regarding a child custody dispute. A dog running at-large was reported in the 300 block of South Roosevelt Street.
Officers drove 764 miles and made one arrest.
