Stuchliks attend Czech Festival at Wilson

Connie Hastings of El Dorado visited Thursday with her brother Larry Rudolph.
Alex and Jean Stuchlik drove Saturday to Wilson to enjoy the Czech Festival. Alex joined others playing accordions at Al's Bar and Grill during the day. He said they had a large crowd.
Mervin and Leona Deines drove to Chapman Friday night to watch their grandson Adam Coup play on the Hope baseball team against Chapman.
Micky Black visited Friday morning with uncle Larry Rudolph.
My classmate of 1933 and a dear friend, Violet Delgado, called me Saturday to explain she had moved from Gilroy, Calif., to Paradise, Utah, to be closer to her son Max. She is 88 years old and said she will miss her senior friends in Gilroy.
John and Helen Reznicek, Marion, picked up Irma Reznicek Saturday morning and took her to Baldwin City to visit with Tom and Janet Reznicek while they went on to Kansas City to attend a Saturday afternoon wedding. En route home on Sunday, they picked up Irma.
Larry Rudolph called on me Sunday night to check the battery on the electric fence and keep informed on current events.
Mervin Deines and Irma Reznicek attended Alison Cady's funeral Monday morning at Holy Family Parish, St. John Nepomucene Church, Pilsen.
My son Clark of Andover had back surgery Wednesday morning at Wesley Medical Center, Wichita. He was able to go home Thursday evening. They removed a piece of bone to release a nerve so he could have feeling on the left side from hip to toes. He is doing OK. He is lead superintendent for Gibbs Construction Co., Wichita. He will be able to return to work in three weeks.
My nephew, Leroy Schwartzman, Baldwin, Mo., had knee surgery July 18. He, too, is doing OK.
It was so nice to have a brief visit Tuesday with Mary Haefner, Lincolnville at Carlsons' Grocery in Marion. She was a third and fourth grade teacher at Centre Elementary School in the '60s. My sons really liked her.
Diann Ensz and sons Colton, Jacob, and Kyle of Laredo, Texas are here visiting her parents, Alex and Jean Stuchlik. The Stuchliks hosted a Sunday dinner in their honor. Guests were Christopher and Melissa Stuchlik and family, Lincolnville; Rita Stuchlik, Wichita; and Gary and JoAnn Stuchlik and family, Pilsen. Diann will be visiting around here for several days.
Our cousin, Phyllis Bezdek, wife of Francis (William) Bezdek, New Market, Va., died in June. Francis is the youngest son of the late William and Louise (Pospisil) Bezdek.
Farmers are busy swathing and baling hay. It is so dry some of the farmers have to haul water to the pastures, and some are feeding the cattle bales.
Bob Reznicek went Saturday night to Mark Makovec's birthday party at the home of Darren and Amy Makovec.
Adele Katz, son Steve, and mom Selma Ingram drove to Overland Park for an interview with a landlady for a place for Steve to room this fall while he goes to Kansas State University.
