Students share spring break adventures
I'm a very humble person now. I have just had a response to an article I wrote about students going on luxury tours during spring break. When I only went out to a pasture on picnics during my spring break.
Diana Costello, English teacher, required her class to write letters to me about their actual spring breaks. Those letters are so well-written and just wonderful.
I learned that only a few of them went off on a trip. Most of them stayed home and worked. Some of them even cleaned manure out of the barn. What a group! I just thoroughly enjoyed every one of them and appreciate Diana's part in giving them the assignment.
Thank you, young students. I know you have great adventures and joys ahead of you. Oh, there may be some bad days along the way, but you will all "hang in there" and reach your goals.
I have friends who raise miniature goats on their farm. It sounds like fun and I'm anxious to see them. One of my favorite books when I was a kid was "Billy Whiskers." He was an adventurous and frisky fellow.
When my brother, Gib, was a small boy, he had a pet goat. He could hitch him to his little wagon and be pulled around where my brother wanted to go. We lived in the big Wheeler house on Locust and Helen Loveless, then a small girl, lived across the street and enjoyed riding in the wagon. You know, that was some time ago!
