Superintendent search team will be at Centre Thursday
A superintendent search committee headed by Dr. Bill Majors of Kansas Association of School Boards will be at Centre School District Thursday to review applications.
The committee, consisting of Majors, a school superintendent, and a university professor, will recommend four or five candidates to the board in an executive session at a special meeting that evening at the central office in Lost Springs.
Tentative plans call for candidates to visit the school district next week. Each candidate will visit on a separate day.
The visit will include a tour of facilities and meetings with head teachers, athletic director, business office personnel, and transportation director.
At 3:30 p.m. each day, a reception will be held in the high school library to provide an opportunity for school employees, parents, and patrons to meet the candidate.
The board will share a 6 p.m. dinner with the candidate, then conduct an interview in executive session.
Those interested in attending the receptions are asked to call the district office to confirm the visits.
