Tabor cagers visit, read with MES third graders
Ten members of the Tabor College women's basketball team paid a visit Sept. 10 to Beth Schobert's third-grade class at Marion Elementary School.
Each player took one or two students aside to read a story, "Allie's Basketball Dream," with them. The story concerns a girl who wants to play basketball and shows that the rewards of hard work and practice can be a dream come true.
Players hailed from Hillsboro, WaKeeney, Wichita, and as far away as Wyoming, Texas, Mississipi, and New Mexico.
Angela Kroeker, a senior from Hillsboro, read with students James Svoboda and Jennifer Fruechting. Kroeker is studying to be an accountant.
