Many Tampa people, as well as relatives and friends from away, attended funeral services Monday morning for Helen Schwartzman. Helen had lived in this area all of her 98 years, and she will be greatly missed by everyone.

News is not very plentiful again this week, because many of the less than sure-footed were held prisoners in their homes by the ice. Even some of the younger and nimbler, who were going about their usual routine, fell.

Dinner guests Sunday of Frank and Anna Mae Stika were Ronnie and Lisa Hanschu, James and Anna and Tom and Lori Moldenhauer.

Adeline Bernhardt visited Milda Krauter Sunday afternoon at Marion Manor in Marion.

Russ and Julie Kerbs, Ashton and Rustyn were after-church Sunday visitors of Reuben and Lucille Kerbs.

Steve Spohn of Hope visited Sunday afternoon with Gary and Carole Spohn and Georgia Spohn.

The Centre junior varsity team took second Saturday at the league quiz meet. Team members were Julie Rziha, Kristine Jirak, Tye Remy, Allie Will, and Brittany Owens. Those participating on the varsity team were Rachel Davis, Tad Remy, Tim Baker, and Brianne Stahlecker.

Sharon Schrag, Payden, Ross, and Lane of Lindsborg spent the weekend with her parents, Gus and Mildred Hamm.

Kristin Srajer of Omaha, Neb., and Craig and Teresa Srajer of Moline, Ill., spent the weekend here visiting Tillie Hein and Jim and Kris Srajer, Grant and Cole.

Diane Herron, Andrew and Peter of Solomon and Jeanne Rziha visited Saturday with Sister Mary Cora Rziha in Wichita.

Reuben and Lucille Kerbs went to Abilene Saturday and accompanied Connie Thompson and Taylor to Salina, where they attended a reception at the home of Tim and Marchelle Kerbs, April and Molly. The occasion celebrated April's graduation from Emporia State University on Dec. 18. Many relatives and friends attended including the following family members: Kennith and Pat Pierce of Augusta, Glenn and Eloise Kerbs of Dodge City, Christy Kerbs of Wichita, Allison Phillips and Brice Dawson of Abilene, Ashton Kerbs of Salina, and Russ and Julie Kerbs and Rustyn. Refreshments were served, and April opened her gifts and cards.

Kaylee Hall of Herington was an overnight guest Friday of her grandparents, Tom and Dee Duggan.

Lisa Hanschu and Lori Moldenhauer spent Jan. 10-12 in Houston, Texas, where Lisa received a good report from her doctors.
