Tampa welcomes Lillian Grace Clymer, born Feb. 21 to Matt and Crysta Clymer. She weighed 10 pounds 5 ounces and measured 21 inches. Joining her parents in welcoming her home is her brother Isaac, 2. Grandparents are Tom and Jane Clymer of Lost Springs and Cindy Bentz. Great-grandparents are Stanley and Eva Anderson of Lindsborg and Magdalene Bentz.
About 45 people attended the community potluck supper Sunday evening. In the benefit drawing for the remote controlled storm siren, Tom Moldenhauer won the hymnbook angel and Leona Kleiber won two dinners at Butch's Diner.
Don and Betty Frick of Topeka took Tom and Dee Duggan out for lunch on Monday.
Jerry and Jeanne Rziha and Julie went to Great Bend Sunday to join other relatives in helping Gertrude Rziha celebrate her 89th birthday.
Bill and Pamela Fillmore of Cottonwood Falls and Jim and Kris Srajer, Grant and Cole were Sunday dinner guests of Tillie Hein.
Frank and Anna Mae Stika and Ronnie and Lisa Hanschu, James and Anna attended a chicken dinner Sunday at Hope sponsored by the Rosebank youth.
Wayne and Marita Schwartzman of Wichita were weekend guests of his mother, Helen Schwartzman. Additional Sunday evening visitors were Martha Melcher, Eleanor Murphy, and Jane Vajnar.
Jim and Mary Clemmer spent Saturday and Sunday in Topeka. They visited Doris Lowe on Saturday. Other visitors were Marlene Clemmer and Todd Lowe. Later they attended the wedding of Mary's niece, Sheila Gray, and Steven Henderson and the reception following. The Clemmers were overnight guests of Nyle and Kathi Sutton, Alex, Meagan, and Kyle. On Sunday morning the Suttons and Clemmers joined Bob and Margaret Grohowsky for breakfast to celebrate Margaret's birthday. Later, Jim and Mary attended church with Fern Gray, and the three met Doris and Todd Lowe for dinner.
Adeline Bernhardt and Leona Kleiber went to El Dorado Saturday to meet Dean and Becky Routh, Allison, Melody, and Danielle of Augusta at Butler County Community College for 4-H Club Day. The Routh girls participated in readings, demonstrations, choir, one-act play, vocal solo, instrumental and piano solos, and gavel games. They received several top blues and will move on to regional competition.
Many Tampa youngsters brought home blue ribbons from Marion County 4-H Club Day. However, complete results could not be obtained at this writing.
Greg Sklenar of Wichita spent the weekend with Lois Sklenar and Valerie Hampton.
Ryan and Claudette Spohn, Adam and Lauren of Manhattan and Gary and Carole Spohn visited Saturday with Steve Spohn of Hope. All enjoyed dinner out in Ramona.
Diane Herron, Andrew and Peter of Wichita spent the weekend with Jerry and Jeanne Rziha and Julie.
Frank and Anna Mae Stika spent Saturday with Tom and Lori Moldenhauer and Nikki. The day ended with a barbecue in the evening.
Georgia Spohn met Norma and Orlin Wagner of Wichita at Kingfisher's Inn near Marion Saturday for dinner out.
Amanda Kleiber took her grandmother, Leona Kleiber, out for dinner at the cafe Friday.
Adeline Bernhardt visited Thursday morning with Milda Krauter at Marion Manor in Marion.
Russ and Julie Kerbs, Reuben and Lucille Kerbs, Reuben Kerbs II, and Cristy Cammack of Manhattan enjoyed breakfast out Thursday morning. Reuben II was visiting Tampa relatives before going to Arizona.
Georgia Spohn met Lenora Graham of Florence at Hillsboro Thursday. They attended the Learning in Retirement program at Tabor College and enjoyed dinner out. The LRP featured Anthony Brown of Newton who talked to the group about American Negro spirituals and sang some of them, accompanied by Ken Rogers. He also encouraged the audience to join in the singing on some selections.
Cristy Cammack of Manhattan visited late Wednesday afternoon with Lucille Kerbs.
Adeline Bernhardt visited Crysta Clymer, Isaac and Lillian Wednesday afternoon.
Russ and Julie Kerbs, Reuben Kerbs II and Reuben and Lucille Kerbs enjoyed dinner out Wednesday in Lost Springs.
Your correspondent accidentally omitted one item from this past week's news. Apologies. Reuben and Lucille Kerbs went to Abilene Feb. 21. Connie Thompson, Allison and Taylor took them out to dinner as a belated celebration of Lucille's birthday. Doug Thompson was unable to be with them.
