Nikki Stenzel was honored on her confirmation Sunday with a dinner and reception at the senior center with Tom and Lori Moldenhauer as hosts. A confirmation cake was decorated with Nikki's favorite scripture. Birthday cakes for Lori and Frank Stika also were served with ice cream. Guests from this area were Frank and Anna Mae Stika, Ronnie and Lisa Hanschu, James and Anna, Pastor Troy and Julee Slater and family, Jim and Jeanne Weber, Norma Weber, Jim and Rosalie Rudolph, Helen Sader, Ronnie and Marvena Cheever and Jimmy, Harry Cheever, Irene Beames, and Tina and B.J. Clement. Those from a distance were Debbie and Scott Steward of Florence, Lyal and Julie Sader, Brian and Corey Sader and family and Lynn and Mary Sader of Salina, Chris and Tisha Beilefeld and family and Ruth Riggin of Peabody, and Linda Sader and a friend from Beloit.

Ashlee Bowman, bride-elect of Jon Herbel, was honored with a bridal shower Sunday afternoon at the home of Autumn Chisholm. Assisting hostesses were Christine Herbel, Marcella Mohn, Connie Wiens, and Shirley Hamm. Special guests included the honoree's mother, Dina Bowman; grandmother, Rosie Bowman; sister, Amber Bowman; aunts, Donita Camaron, Debbie Bowman, and Stacey Bowman; special friends, Dawn Kaiser, Melissa Kaiser, and Stephanie Haws; and the mother of the groom-to-be, Eleanor Herbel.

Gary and Carole Spohn and Georgia Spohn enjoyed dinner out after church on Sunday at Kingfisher's Inn near Marion.

Ashton Kerbs of Salina visited Reuben and Lucille Kerbs Sunday and attended church with them. Russ Kerbs was an additional after-church visitor.

Sunday visitors of Helen Schwartzman and her houseguest, Leroy Schwartzman of Ballwin, Mo., were Wayne and Marita Schwartzman of Wichita and John Schwartzman of Salina. Leroy returned home on Monday. Stephanie Classen of Marion, Eleanor Murphy, and Martha Melcher were Sunday evening visitors.

Donald and Carolyn Srajer of Omaha, Neb., came Friday to bring his mother, Tillie Hein, home from the Newton Medical Center where she had been treated for pneumonia, and stayed with her until Tuesday. Mike and Kathy Bauer and Ryan came Friday evening and joined them for the weekend. Ted and Maxine Zielinski of Omaha were weekend guests of Jim and Kris Srajer, Grant and Cole. All attended church at Elmo Sunday for Grant's first communion, followed by dinner out in Abilene. Others making their first communion were Chad Mueller and Morganne Hamm.

Adeline Bernhardt spent from Friday to Sunday with Barney and Linda Bernhardt and Megan in Wichita. Carl and Kathy Hubbard of Wellington and Gabrielle Stout of Wichita joined them Friday evening for supper out in Wichita. After supper, they all visited Carrie Bernhardt at Via Christi-St. Francis Regional Medical Center. Adeline visited Carrie at various times during the weekend. Carrie was injured in a shoot-out at a prison in Kosovo. She was transferred from a military hospital in Germany to Washington, D.C., and then to the hospital in Wichita.

Amanda Kleiber and John Larson stopped for a brief visit Saturday afternoon with her grandmother, Leona Kleiber, before leaving for the Canton-Galva prom.

Sharon Aderman of Topeka, Linda Harding of Abilene, and Jane Vajnar met Saturday in Abilene. They spent most of the day visiting at the Harding home and enjoyed dinner out. Jane and Sharon also got to see Linda's husband Bruce and check out his latest wood carving.

Donald and Carolyn Srajer and Ted and Maxine Zielinski of Omaha, Neb., and Jim and Kris Srajer and Cole attended Grant Srajer's soccer game Monday evening in Herington.

Melissa and Daniel Stuchlik and Tanner of Wichita were Friday overnight and Saturday guests of his parents, Monty and Sarah Stuchlik of Lost Springs. Her parents, Terry and Cindy Vinduska were Friday evening visitors, and Frances Stuchlik came on Saturday. Also on Saturday Melissa and Daniel took Tanner to get acquainted with his other great-grandmothers, Ruby Vinduska of Pilsen and Leona Kleiber.

Tom and Lori Moldenhauer and Nikki and Jim and Jeanne Weber enjoyed supper out Friday evening in Herington in celebration of Lori's birthday.

Frank and Anna Mae Stika attended the Relay for Life barbecue Friday evening in Herington. Ronnie and Lisa Hanschu served.

Dee Duggan, Adeline Bernhardt, Leona Kleiber, and Mary Christiansen joined other ladies Thursday from the Red Hat Society at Canton for lunch at the Three Sisters Victorian Tea and Treasures.

Jane Vajnar attended the Learning in Retirement program Thursday morning at Tabor College in Hillsboro followed by lunch in the college cafeteria. The program featured a hand bell choir made up of Tabor students and older members enrolled in Learning in Retirement and also a solo performance on the hand bells.

Leona Kleiber visited Milda Krauter Friday morning at Marion Manor in Marion.

Tom and Lori Moldenhauer, Frank and Anna Mae Stika, Lisa Hanschu, and Jim and Jeanne Weber attended the confirmation questioning Friday evening for Nikki Stenzel and others in her confirmation class in Herington, followed by a reception in honor of the class.

Bill Fillmore of Cottonwood Falls was a Friday afternoon visitor of Tillie Hein and her houseguests, Donald and Carolyn Srajer of Omaha, Neb.

Lenora Graham of Florence and Georgia Spohn attended the funeral service Wednesday for Agnes Funk in Hillsboro.

Tom and Dee Duggan spent from April 19 to 21 with Darlene and Ernie Kite in Bartlesville, Okla. On Tuesday they attended the funeral of Joe Jackson, a classmate of Dee. That evening Dee accompanied Darlene to her quilting meeting where they saw Tom's cousin, Judy Oborny. En route home on Wednesday the Duggans visited with her brother, Ernie Bonham of Caney.

Reuben and Lucille Kerbs went to Hope April 20 for a soccer game between two Centre teams. Their grandson, Rustyn Kerbs, played.
