Tampa was a busy burg over the weekend. A coed slow pitch softball tournament was played at the ball diamond Saturday and Sunday with eight teams competing. Although most of the players were from this area, some came a long way to get in on the action. Players on the Murphy team included James Murphy of Frisco, Texas, and Shelbie and Cheyenne Stewart of Huntington Beach, Calif. Players ranged in age from pre-teen to retirement.

Although some of the older athletes reported very sore muscles the next day, everyone seemed to have fun. The Makovec family team overcame the Davis team to take first place.

Personnel of Tampa State Bank hosted their annual hog roast and street dance Saturday evening. Music for the street dance was by Soul Preachers.
