Tampa: Birthdays celebrated

Weekend guests of Jerry and Jeanne Rziha and Julie were Wayne and Shannon Rziha and Cecilia Marie of Tulsa, Okla., Janie Rziha and John and Jeanne Rziha, Michael, Christopher, Joseph, and Timothy of Atchison, David Rziha of Lawrence, Diane Herron, Andrew and Peter of Wichita, and Cecilia Rziha of Hays. The occasion was a celebration of Wayne's birthday.

Gathering at the home of Bev and Tom Reid at Marion County Lake Sunday evening for supper and the fireworks display were Ron and Jody Heath, Tyler and Danielle of Salina, Mike and Jennifer Jay of Hillsboro, Paul and Edna Backhus, Phyllis Mueller, Brad and Kathy Backhus, and Jason Backhus. They were celebrating Brad's birthday.

Frank and Anna Mae Stika and Ronnie and Lisa Hanschu and Anna were among those attending the Labor Day parade at Burdick. Lori Moldenhauer participated in the parade. James Weber and Nikki Stenzel marched with the Centre band.

Becky Routh, Melody, Allison, and Danielle of Augusta were weekend guests of her mother, Leona Kleiber. Becky attended the 25th anniversary reunion of her Centre High School class Saturday at the senior center. Lynn and Peggy Kleiber and Nicholas were Friday evening visitors of Leona and the Rouths.

Donald and Carolyn Srajer and Kristin Srajer of Omaha, Neb., spent the weekend here visiting Tillie Hein and Jim and Kris Srajer, Grant and Cole. Grant and Cole spent Saturday with their grandparents, great-grandmother, and Aunt Kristin while their parents attended the Kansas State University football game in Manhattan.

Martha Melcher was honored with a surprise birthday party Friday at the café with around 20 friends present.

Jim and Mary Clemmer went to Salina Thursday evening to watch their granddaughter Cassie Clemmer play softball.

Ralph and Wanda Richmond of Marion were evening visitors of Paul and Edna Backhus Aug. 27.

Jack and Sharon Grosse of Peabody, Leona Kleiber, and Adeline Bernhardt joined Milda Krauter at Marion Manor in Marion Aug. 26 for a potluck supper with other residents and their families. The event had a Hawaiian theme.

Jim and Mary Clemmer picked up her sister Faye Jaggard in Emporia Aug. 27 and all visited Gene and Glennis Jones at Madison. Olive French was an additional guest.

Lenora Graham of Florence and Georgia Spohn met in Marion for dinner Aug. 20.

Adeline Bernhardt was a recent visitor of Martha Melcher.

Tampa Community Association will meet at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Senior Center. Areas of discussion will include the Santa Fe Trail Fest in October and the purchase of Tampa T-shirts. Anyone interested in the shirts should contact Carole Spohn or Mary Ann Frantz.
